The following figures are rupees per litre and use the effective dates shown in PSO's archive.
- September 1: Petrol Rs 342.79; HSD Rs 370.41
- September 2: Petrol Rs 343.87; HSD Rs 370.92
- September 3: Petrol Rs 346.16; HSD Rs 372.03
- September 4: Petrol Rs 349.00; HSD Rs 374.31
- September 5: Petrol Rs 345.87; HSD Rs 378.05
- September 8: Petrol Rs 358.77; HSD Rs 381.77
- September 9: Petrol Rs 364.35; HSD Rs 385.95

What the sequence shows
Prices did not move in one direction every day. Petrol fell between September 4 and September 5 before rising sharply over the following published dates. Diesel, by contrast, rose across the PSO entries shown here.
Do not fill missing dates by guessing
If an archive has no new entry for a particular date, do not invent a rate or assume a change. Use the effective-date records that the official source actually publishes.
